After the severe winter, Washington flew cherry blossoms to welcome the May Fourth Movement. When the joy of the approaching school celebration collided with the mountain eagle spirit of the alumni who love outdoor activities, the alumnus Cinnabar recently proposed in the WeChat group of Peking University to ride in the lush spring of Washington, on Sunday, May 3rd, on the National Mall in Washington. 5km running and walking were held to celebrate the 117th anniversary of Peking University during the May Fourth Movement. This proposal was quickly approved by the Washington Peking University Alumni Association Council and received unanimous support from many alumni. An urgent application was submitted to the Washington National Park Management Office (NPS), and the permit was finally obtained on April 29. The alumni association immediately started the preparation and publicity work.

At 7:30 in the morning, Peking University alumni, dressed in different ages, different colors, printed with Peking University and Peking University emblems, began to gather in front of the Lincoln Memorial. At the same time, a rest water supply station was set up in front of Parliament Hill on the other side of the National Mall. At around 8:10, the walking team set off first, and then the running team got on the road. Many alumni dressed in Peking University shirts or running vigorously, or walking freely on the verdant National Lawn, formed another scenic line of Peking University in Washington, giving the Yanyuan alma mater thousands of miles away.
